Negotiation
Today's walk took us to to over 2000 metres on the best route up towards the pic du Canigou. We went up to Marialles in 4x4s as the track is terrible and we were thrown around quite a bit. Then we steadily climbed for around two hours before stopping for lunch. The bull a few metres away was a little disconcerting but he had plenty of cows around so I expect he was quite contented. The mule that came to be fed was quite persistent and had no concept of personal space! On the way up we met a cow on the path which we could not pass as the slope was too steep on one side and there were thick bushes on the other. After a few minutes of polite negotiation, she deigned to move. The cows can be dangerous when they have young calves nearby. We got back just before the storm unleashed its rain.
