Rue des Jardins
In among all the little narrow streets of the old village is a street with gardens. The building of the castle and church attracted the villagers to build houses around it. Guifred de Conflent gave all the land to the Abbey of St Martin on the hillside opposite and the villagers were allowed small plots of land on which to grow vegetables for their own use and for the Abbey. The plots of land still exist.
This afternoon I spent with a couple of English friends who are buying a house off the Bon Coin and wanted help in understanding the negotiations with the owners. It seems you can now buy anything by this means.
