Ikea

Took OBD to IKEA for the first time and she coped surprisingly well (apart from the nappy explosion half way round that resulted in a vest going in the bin!). We came away with a faux sheepskin rug for her to lie on, a brightly coloured cushion for her and a plastic jug to wash her hair with. So she did rather well out of it. We also bought her a seat from mamas and papas - she starting to hold her head up well so won't be long until she's sitting with some help and the seat looks perfect. They're expensive things these babies!

And tiring ones - we're back to 3 awakes in the night and last night she decided there was no need to go back to sleep after her 5.30am wake / feed. Luckily for me the fella is awesome and he took her downstairs to play while I got some more sleep. Seems to be no rhyme nor reason how quickly she goes down / how long she sleeps between feeds / when she wakes up so we just have to go with her.

After ikea I dropped the fella at the hospital as his Nanna was taken ill yesterday - they think it was a stroke. It was looking quite bleak at one point but by the time he visited she was talking and responsive. We then had a family BBQ for his mum's birthday before heading home where OBD decided to cry a lot during bath / getting ready for bed time and then took quite some time to settle. Which was hard. I admit I may have shed a few tears - but we got there at the not too unreasonable 8.30pm so fingers crossed for a good night.
