Take off
The fair is in town. So there's no parking anywhere - the fair is in the two main car parks and the third one is used to park their spare vehicles. But that's not the worst thing. The worst thing is that it's my turn to take the kids this year...
It actually wasn't that bad. We met everyone we knew; CarbBoy's old teacher, TallGirl's chemistry teacher and her riding coach, and pretty much all the pals we have here too. So a very sociable evening. TallGirl has overtaken CarbBoy in shooting - scoring a perfect 12 out of 12 at shooting ping pong balls off fountains of water. I think this has finally persuaded her that her Uncle Mike's idea that she trains for the modern pentathlon is a good one!
CarbBoy was keen to try the bouncy bungee trampoline thing again, but commented after just 30 seconds "this really hurts my private parts" (we're terribly formal!) the hamster rolling plastic balls on water thing was hilarious to watch, but looked surprisingly uncomfortable to be in. And he coped with the Maison de Rire (House of Fun) which he and TallGirl had to be rescued from our first year here!
So, a surprisingly fun night. And we have to go back so TallGirl can shoot enough ping pong balls to win a helicopter.
In other news, we bought a carpet and realised that CarbBoy has never lived in a house with a fitted carpet before. The jury's out on whether this one counts as it is made of grass...
Edit: 2 more bites last night, but I think I finally squished the culprit at about 3am, so hopefully a better night tonight.
