Cold bamboo

As I was walking up the hill to our garden in a cold north wind and bright sunshine, these bamboo canes and dried flowers seemed to me to illustrate the cold winter weather we're still having.

More spring-like weather is forecast for next week, but today we didn't stay out long and came home quickly for a warming bowl of soup and a glass of red wine.
