Venice

We had a very interesting guided tour of the secret places and old prisons inside the Doges Palace on San Marco Square. This is the view from the Bridge of Sighs looking out over the San Marco Canal. It was so called because prisoners caught their breath as they walked from the Courthouse over to the prison block and sighed at their last sight of beautiful Venice before their incarceration.

We've walked so far these last two days my feet are throbbing but it's been a great trip.
