Another day another castle...

We've never been to Bamburgh Castle so thought we'd check it out enroute to Seahouses. What an imposing sight! Walked round it and decided we'll definitely be back for a more intimate inspection! The tea shops in the little town looked inviting too.

Once in Seahouses we booked ourselves onto a boat trip to the Farne Islands with Billy Shiels. Really loved it. The weather was incredible considering the beginning of the week. Bobby and Billy were the crew and they were fantastic, really friendly and down to earth. True characters, should have Blipped them! We ate fresh donuts that Mum had smuggled onboard. Saw seals up really close and lots of sea birds I can't remember the names of (sorry Mum!) We had an hour on Inner Farne. The kids were pretty wowed. Master B has requested we return to see the puffins as their nesting season was over on our visit. He was fascinated. Miss B was totally taken with the whole shebang!

Mr B spent many Summers with his Uncle Brian in Seahouses. Brian was a game keeper on a big estate. We found their old house which Mr B found a bit surreal. His memories sound like one big (sometimes scary) adventure.
