Fargo
We drove from Minneapolis through some very stormy weather, not least in Freeport, Minnesota. We arrived in Fargo, North Dakota not knowing much about the City, other than the fact that it did not really appear in either the brilliant Coen Brothers' film or the almost as good TV series of the same name, both of which were set in even smaller towns in Minnesota.
However, Fargo is a colourful City with a very well-preserved downtown and an excellent art gallery - the Plains Art Museum. As so often in small town America, the details are important. The hospitality was excellent too: some guys in a bar recommended a restaurant we would never have found, if left to our own devices - Mezzaluna.
