Daughter and boyfriend came up for the day and due to inclement weather we went to the camera obscura rather than the zoo. Despite being my third time is was still enjoyable, though I didn't do the actual camera obscura this time, seen it enough).

This afternoon also saw Jen do her ice bucket challenge on the High Street outside her restaurant. Apparently not as bad as she expected, apart from the obvious detraction of tourists photographing her being drenched, and she didn't even go home afterwards but came straight to Bonsai for dinner.

Food at Bonsai was decent as ever and a new dish for me was some grilled scallops which in a very tasty yellow sauce, next time I am there I must find out what it was. Japanese food for the first time for Chris, and Becky has only had it once or twice before but that was teppanyaki and a totally different experience. Both ate everything bar the salad and miso soup and even did a pretty good job braving the chopsticks. Possibly the only thing that took the edge off the expereince was a rather over talkative waitress, which might have been OK on another day but with rare visitors to Edinburgh it grated a little after a while.
