The Boy's done good!

Tonight was the annual prize giving evening at Queensferry High School and Isaac managed to come away with an award for his debating skills.

I do enjoy this evening - a night where those who have excelled either academically or otherwise are recognised for what they have done over the course of a school year - and I say this not as a parent who's son has won something but as a parent who realises that in a society where "taking part is all that matters!", is the preferred norm, this is a welcome change to the reality of "back in the real world..."

Anyway, the down side of this debating skill of his, is that I have to be "on my toes" whenever any subject of discussion comes up that we disagree on - like the forth coming independence debate - where we have differing views and those that have seen my previous blips will know what side of the fence I sit on -

Much discussion and debate on that topic has come and gone on but I usually finish it with...."well I have I vote but you don't..tee hee!!!"

mmmm I don't think I will be up for any debating award...but well done son, you deserved it!!
