Gate..

..I bought this gate a couple of years ago, and have never got round to hanging it. Probably because I had to dig two post holes. But more probably because I had to move quite a lot of soil to get the track level. The left side of the gate was two feet higher than the right side. Task was to dig out the left side and throw it to the right. Also the near end was higher than the far end, so also had to throw from front to back as well.

The track also needs to built up at this end, the stone wall needs to be another foot higher, and back filled. And then given time to consolidate over winter. But I should be able to get through with the tractor when it's done.

The gate still has to be hung, but the concrete needs to go off before I can do that.

Pleased with my efforts, all done with a spade. The gate is level, and remains level when in the open position. It's a 12 foot gate, larger than needed, and I couldn't get the posts wide enough for the gate to open both ways, but it will open towards where I'm standing, and fix against the shed wall..
