A quiet haven

Visiting a local photographic clubs open day recently i entered a free draw for a canvas mounted print of the best of the day photograph ,and to my surprise i am the lucky winner so today we went in to town to make some arrangements.
I have decided to give my prize to the local hospice, St Wilfred's which Jessops, the suppliers, are happy to do ,in fact offered to increase the value of the canvas , and the hospice to accept a draw voucher for the canvas.
St Wilfred's hospice is a local charity providing compassionate care and treatment for people suffering from life limiting illness, a service they have been providing for over 30 years, free of charge regardless of the patients circumstances.
In the last 12 months they have moved in to a new purpose built building which includes a 20 bed unit and a well being centre ,which together, costs about £11,000 a day to run, more details for those of you that are interested can be found on their web site at www.stwhospice.org.
Also a feature of the hospice is their gardens , one in the centre of the two winged building ,being viewable from each of the bed units, while todays picture is of a smaller garden where users of the hospice and their families can spend some quiet moments together.
