Now, as I see it......

Blipmeet

I had my first Blipmeet today with Anne and Bob at the Houghton Regis Chalk Pits nature reserve. We'd planned the meet for last Tuesday but it was such a wet day we postponed until today. Unfortunately, today was also wet but not as bad as last week, and by the time we had had a coffee the weather had eased off a bit, although it was still cloudy and damp. The reserve is fascinating; an old chalk quarry that has been out of use for many years, and there is an abundance of wild plants and flowers although sadly, most were past their best. It is definitely a place worth revisiting in the spring or late summer.

My photo is of a very bedraggled bee clinging to a Willowherb; there are some more pictures of the reserve here if anyone is interested.
