Free fruit

The blackberries in the hedgerows have finally ripened and we managed to pick quite a load today which are now in a crumble. We also discovered a Damson tree and managed to get quite a lot of fruit from it which was lovely cooked up and served with a spoonful of yogurt. The elderberries are fully ripe and the birds are taking advantage (that'll be purple poop on the cars for a while) and there are lots of sloes around, although we didn't pick any of those as we still have home made sloe gin left from last year!
