The train to Aidensfield
My Finnish visitor is a huge fan of Heartbeat so today we drove from Hexham to Whitby from where we took the steam train to Goathland for a wander around the television series "set" of Aidensfield.
We also spent a happy couple of hours in Whitby looking at jet, climbing the steps to the Abbey, and enjoying fish and chips for our lunch. On our way back to Hexham we stopped off at Durham to show Gunilla the cathedral and castle. We ended our evening with a lovely meal with our friends K and I at Le bouchon in Hexham.
In the middle of our travels we learnt some fabulous news from fellow blipper NadinePierce. She's been staying at Augill Castle with her boyfriend (who, you will see from her journal, has just been upgraded to fiancé). Augill Castle is also where I took Mr hazelh for his 50th birthday treat last year.
My blip was taken from the train on the way to Goathland.
Exercise today: walking around Goathland, Whitby and Durham.
