Colour popping Monday: lunch

Hong Kong Chinese are an interesting mixture of the private and the sociable. When I stayed here for seven months not once did anyone knock on my door without an invitation nor did I get to see their own homes. But suggest lunch or dinner and they would source a great restaurant, gather other colleagues and always insist on paying. I had many memorable lunches whilst here then and on every occasion I visit. This morning was my first teaching session and A, on the left as you look is the local leader for this course and with her colleagues, F and B undertake the local tutorials after my sessions. A insisted we went for lunch. Yet another new restaurant, they ordered a lovely if over large lunch and we chatted about the course. They paid too, I have given up long ago trying to pay, they become offended.

We chatted about the course and I was explaining why I had decided to teach sitting down. This led onto me telling them about my cancer. Some of the staff know but I haven't taught for a while here so not all staff did know. They were lovely about it, first insisting that Chinese remedies would get rid of it and then offering to help if I got over tired. I was glad I had told them because there is a chance I will get too tired. A said I must just email her if I felt unwell and she would cover, made me feel a lot better.

So a good start with about 130 students and a nice lunch. I have since had a siesta and now set off again to teach the rest of them the same topic. So I teach 9-12 in the morning and now 7-10 tonight. Long day! I may be too tired to comment tonight but rest day tomorrow so will catch up whilst you all sleep. Feel good and dare I say it, now 8 days since last infection so keeping fingers crossed!

This is also my blip for MM. I made it mono and then colour popped one or two bits. Do you think it will qualify?
