Sunday Style - Shaving

Beards, designer stubble and the like have become so common place that there seems to be no rules about when to shave. I remember reading that in parts of Europe men would shave on Sunday only, presumably in order to go to church in their Sunday best.

I have recently gone back to a proper wet shave. This is my razor and the badger hair brush. The razor is great and I found it easy enough to use from the first shave. The brush however has come apart three times. The bristles come away from the handle. I have glued it up again today. Consequently I haven't had a shave.

It's a quiet day down on Dragonfly Farm. No 1 son is going back to University tomorrow and is quietly ignoring this fact and playing on his Xbox. Packing is going to be easy for him as he's sharing a furnished house this time. (He's leaving all his unwanted stuff with us).

Our daughter, No 3, is going to leave for Victoria and the start of her Masters on Tuesday. She is our family's master of ceremonies, with a keen sense of how special occasions should be marked. So for her farewell to us all, she and her boyfriend are cooking dinner for us all tonight. It's going to be homemade pizzas. While they're waiting for the dough to rise they've been drafted in to harvesting a few more plums and the last of the mulberries.

Perhaps it is not the quiet day I thought it was.
