Got a call from the care home just before 8am this morning; Dad was being violent during the night and tried to break out of the care home. He said his wife was sitting outside in the car and they were stopping him from seeing her. He hit one of the carers on the hip when she tried to stop him from smashing the glass and they called the police (who didn't arrive) and ended up trapping him in the lift until he calmed down. He then spent today being very sheepish and not talking much. I was going to go and see him but sometimes I end up making matters worse. So I called a few times to make sure he was behaving himself. It's time to get the doctor to medicate his dementia, he's only going to get worse and I'd rather risk him falling again (side affects of the tablets lowers blood pressure) than have to move him to a more secure dementia home where he is locked in his room all day. I also need to get a solicitor to visit him so we can get the power of attorney and his will sorted.
