We'd finally made it on holiday.

Whittingham, a small village east of the beautiful Northumberland coast.

The cottage was a disappointment. On arrival we found the advertised "river at the bottom of the garden" to be inaccessible and largely invisible. The decor was great, for 10 years ago, and hadn't been loved or largely cleaned since. The beds were clean and comfortable though so it could have been worse.
