Grand Day in Grand Teton

Backblip

A glorious morning as we left Jackson. Saw a pronghorn deer at the road side and the herd of bison again but some distance away. We stopped at Oxbow Bend in the Snake River where, as you can see, the reflections of the Teton grange were stunning.
( This is Mt Moran)

It is a great watering hole for wildlife and water fowl. No Elk or Moose I'm afraid but if you look large you will see a white speck in the distance. This was a large group,of American White Pelican which we could see further on. Would have liked to put them in a compilation but from past experience I know it messes up the dates with back blips!

We continued north and stopped to watch a Coyote in the meadows. It spotted something and after a few minutes pounced. That was lunch and it was on its way. Managed to find a salad for lunch and then headed up to the south gate of Yellowstone National Park. This is a thousand feet higher than Grand Teton about 7,700 ft where we are staying at Yellowstone Lake but over 8,000 where you cross the Continental Divide.

En route into the Lake area we spotted a female Moose in the woods. We are in a 1930's style Frontier Cabin. I understand the no telephone, no TV, no Wifi to keep things in keeping but why no hair dryer! There is a coffee maker something the Americans obviously won't do without!
