Sad....but still having fun

Krista left for college this morning! Kalyn and I had a good cry when Krista, R and J drove off. The car was loaded - it would have been impossible to squeeze another single thing into it. We just got a call that they arrived safely in Olds, Alberta - after an almost 12 hour drive!
Kalyn and I picked up Chris, Krista's boyfriend, and we went to White Rock for fish and chips (and calamari, onion rings and poutine!) then had a long walk on the beach. We couldn't resist gelato for dessert. It's a beautiful evening, and they're sitting outside now playing cards, waiting for one of Kalyn's friends to arrive for a sleepover.
We're all very happy and excited for Krista, but we'll miss her immensely. So, yes we're sad, but still having fun, just like she'd want us to.
Kalyn got her braces off last Tuesday and this is the first blip of her without them. Her smile is gorgeous.
