Chateaux Arnside

About seven years ago we put up a pergola on the patio. I wanted to plant a Russian vine which would cover it in two years. But Ann was more ambitious and so a grape vine it had to be.

Nothing much happened for three years but then it took off.

Now Arnside is not famous for it's sunshine records. About five hours a day in August seems to be a good year. But this year it looks as though we might get enough to make a bottle. Although a jar or two of grape jelly seems more likely. But it is nice to sit under.
