Show time - an English tradition

Its the end of August so it must be time to take the grandsons to Poynton Show, a surprisingly large even on the edge of the greater Manchester Green Belt.

The photo shows a Shire horse waiting to be judged with its owner looking the model of a cheshire country gentleman.

Of course the show had lots for children including for these two boys their mother playing the euphonium in the Stockport Silver Band.

With huge bouncy castle slides, many rides, tents full of rabbits and chickens and scores of other attractions there was enough to keep a six and a four year old amused for four hours. At the end of that grandparents retired from the field exhausted but popular.
