After the sad demise of one of the red squirrels on the road a couple of weeks ago it's great to see the kittens are fast becoming independent and our little population is growing. This chap (or lass - to the untrained eye there's little way of knowing) is still nervous enough that he climbs right inside the feeder to eat - but he'd jumped out before I could get that Blip. Sat watching them come and go I'm fairly certain I identified four different individuals today.

One of the problems that faces the Red's is that they survive at a relativity low density in our mixed woodland - so eventually I suspect some of these kittens will have to strike out further afield - but its lovely to see so many of them whilst they're still here.
