An Avid Lensman

The Dead Old Oak...

The Bank Holiday Monday was rainy. Rain and then some more rain.

But as the night drew in, the stars came out to play...

LARGE

It seems a real shame that this grand old oak is dead.

But it has allowed me to capture its stunning, stark and skeletal outline, in August.

Alongside the A27, (but safely in a field) so car headlights have streaked across the ground, kissed the tree and illuminated the background. The distant city glow of Southampton gives colour and buoyancy to the sky.

Lens is Sigma 14mm f2.8, on the old full-frame D700, which is now 6 years old.

Huge thanks for all your lovely comments and thoughts on yesterday's - once again, illustrates just what an amazing site and community Blipfoto is.
