Ready and waiting

The day got off to a great start with time by the pool after breakfast. Afterwards we got a taxi to San Fernando to do some shopping. Thanks to Carl's crash course in Spanish on his tablet, we'd been able to ask the guy in charge of our bungalow complex for advice about where to go for an electric fan for our place. Martin, our host, had mentioned that he intended to get one for his next stay here, so we decided to get one for him as a surprise and as an addition to our own comfort while here.

Sure enough, we found a few places which sold fans and stopped for a tapas or two while we considered our options. We ended up with what seemed like the ideal thing, and got a taxi back home with our purchase and some other general supermarket shopping. (We decided against getting one of these hams.)

Our evening meal was in a little French place in the Yumbo Centre. We'd found it towards the end of our last stay here and had been impressed by the quality and the reasonable price of the set meal. It wasn't as good this time, unfortunately.
