Different
This evening was really the last concert of the summer. However, due to some strange machinations which we don't yet understand, it wasn't advertised in the official programme or in the village and took place in the village hall, not the amphitheatre, so it was "intimate" -- a dozen people in the audience. It must be so demoralising for the performers. Les Harpies were good, a rather old-fashioned duo of guitarist and singer. Not all of the music was to my taste -- a lot of middle-of-the-road French standards -- but they were good musicians. When the singer sang more expressive songs -- Piaf, Brel, a bit of blues -- she was excellent, as was the guitarist. They deserved a wider audience.
They set up their own lighting and made the strange decision to install the few feeble lights they had behind them. So I took one under-exposed photo at ISO 1000, and then decided the light was so awful it wasn't worth taking any more. This is that photo -- I messed about with it and rather liked the high-key effect ... not my normal style.
