PRETTY LADY

It seems the colors of the birds are so much brighter this time of year. This female goldfinch is a pretty pale yellow now, but by late fall she will be a dull tan with barely a hint of yellow. These days the male is a tremendously bright yellow, but by late fall he will be only slightly more yellow than this female is today. I wonder if their feathers fade from the strong sunshine. (Happy to get a bird in a tree for a change.)
