Dog Day

It's National Dog Day, so Kirby had to have his day in a blip (is this his first?). We swam in the Willamette at Independence and walked a new trail. It's too hot for the old guy, but he sucked it up for National Dog Day.

For those of you scoring at home, the score is still Cats 2, Dogs 1. Sadie in her final at bat, has been fouling off pitch after pitch, staying alive in the count, trying to force extra innings. She's had yet another good at bat, and while she is still behind in the count, I wouldn't count her out yet. It is a cliche I know, but with her it is literally one day at a time. She looked much better today.

But back to our National Dog Day. Since I am always grateful that this dog came into our lives, maybe it's appropriate that Grateful Dawg provide the soundtrack for today's blip. While it's a dog's day, this song has Sadie's struggle all over it. Listen to it!
