Acidanthera murielae's last days

This is a bit of an emergency blip. It has rained for most of the day and I have been settled inside preparing documents for the next stage of the project I have been working towards. The main work starts next week.

I did go outside this afternoon when the rain cleared for a while and the cloud cover thinned somewhat. I saw that the Acidanthera murielae is on its last legs after a wonderful show this summer, as well as its vivid bouquet that greets anyone going outside the backdoor. I shall have to nurture these plants to renew their bulbs and raise them to sow again next spring. The water droplets looked lovely and I particularly like those on the thin stem whose striped colours are very pretty.

I am also noticing the shortening of the days which is something I really don't like. We need as much daylight as we can get. I think I need to get some SAD bulbs for my study again, to keep my winter spirits up. I don't think whisky will be quite the same.
