Miserable weather for a bank holiday...
I laid abed a while today but only after my lodger finally called to let me know he won't be back til Wednesday, which is a good thing. I then did some clearing up and a little food shopping once I'd ascertained that my relatives weren't arriving til the afternoon.
I have lost the sore throat and the tummy gripes but have now developed a horrendous headache which paracetomol has not yet alleviated. I therefore went to bed this afternoon and my amazing sis prepared dinner when she arrived. I had some lovely smiles and cuddles from Teddy (see blip) and these did go a long way to cheering me up. C said she'd had a moment this morning when the sadness struck. I think mine is coming out in physical ailments at the moment.
A and P arrived, having driven all the way from rural Devon in bank holiday traffic and rain all day. It was good to see them but I really wasn't in the mood to be the best hostess. Luckily they muck in nicely. N and C turned up (after spending the day at B's house) and we had a nice gathering in the sitting room again then an enjoyable tea of quiche and salad, though no-one could manage the fruit salad I'd prepared for pudding so that's one for tomorrow.
I've decided not to go to work tomorrow and have also emailed work to ask for the following week as unpaid leave. Fingers crossed they'll agree as I will need that time to look after myself and see as much of N and C while they are both in the country to support them and get their support in return.
After a couple of hours catching up with A and P after tea, I'm now having an early night having left my guests to do the clearing up and load the dishwasher...
