Attacking the green tomato mountain
In a pre-emptive strike on our tomatoes to stop the dreaded black lurgy getting them, we have harvested the majority of the tomatoes and have been looking to process them. Mock apple pie and green tomato jam were two methods Tricia used earlier but today however today it was my turn to make green tomato and courgette chutney - yes it even gets rid of some courgettes too. Three hours of boiling and all I have left is five large pots of chutney to show for my efforts. Looking forward to them maturing in about a month's time.
What a way to spend one's birthday...
