Bowls
For some reason quite a few of the local kids have taken to bowling on a Friday evening and today they'd organised a child and parent (although adults in other forms of caring relationship were also encouraged to participate) day. Teams of significant adult / young person played each other and the two highest played for the small trophy and box of Quality Street. I think the idea was that some of the adults might be sufficiently enthused that they'd sign up and join. Tempting but it turns out the club house has no bar.
Then it was to pick up Ellen from her Minecraft themed birthday party and home, stopping off at the Ship for a rest.
I don't know how I've managed all these years without a manly workshop apron for both clothing protection and ancillary storage but I was rather taken with the fancy (not just fancy but ¡fancy!) apron the guy in yesterday's cool bike shop was wearing. Just not £200 taken. Of course, it was made of some nice grey heavyweight canvas and had leather straps and really looked like £200 worth of craftsmanship.
But how hard could it be to make one? Not very. Modelled on this but mine hasn't got the nice leather straps, although it does have more pockets with nice waxed cotton edges.
