A long day

But a lovely one.

I was judging Mastiffs in Edinburgh, at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show. We were second in our ring, following 83 Bearded Collies.

This is one of the lovely males in the ring. I love the breed but I couldn't cope with the coat. All that brushing, bathing, and persuading them not to do all the normal doggie things.

I had some marvellous Mastiffs to judge today. Not very many. There aren't SO many in the UK now, and Edinburgh is such a long way for most people, especially for those travelling from France or Germany.

There was a fire alarm which delayed us all for a while. All the dogs were so well behaved and we got back to work very quickly after the firemen had given the all clear.

I've driven back to Staffordshire now. 300 miles. And I stopped st my favourite service station on the M6 - Tebay.

It's been a lovely little break :-)
