Captain Scott

Today we met up with friends and spent a long day at Roath Park, Cardiff. It wasn't the usual warmth of an August Bank Holiday weekend, but the children spent hours running around whilst us Mums chatteredchatted away.

Feeling adventurous, we took a rowing boat out onto the lake. I'm not a fan of being on the open water...especially with children who insisted on walking up and down the boat to swop places all the time! However, it did enable me to get up close to the lighthouse as they decided to row around it (where there's very little room for manouvre). This lighthouse was built in 1915 and has a scale model of the Terra Nova ship to commemorate Captain Scott's ill-fated voyage to the Antarctic from Cardiff in 1910.
