Just over 2 years ago, my baby girl started preschool. It was a big thing. Her much-loved first nursery had closed very quickly, we'd had a bad experience at a subsequent nursery. We both needed this to be her "until school" nursery. And they rose to the job exceptionally. They have loved my daughter for who she is, they have treasured who she is. They have cared for her and encouraged her. They've laughed at her quirks and crazinesses. They have given her the space to grow in her individuality while giving her the nurturing to help her be ready for starting school. She's made extremely dear friends, a good group of which she will go on to school with. She's continued two friendships made at her first nursery. Saying goodbye today was hard.
We spent time this morning making their card. We finished off their gift too - we made a Monkey from one of her preschool tshirts, onto which Katie's writing of "Thank you love Katie" had been embroidered. I picked her up midafternoon. We took a couple of pictures with some of her favourite staff. We gave them the monkey. We gathered up all her belongings (probably), took a few photos outside. I even managed to almost hold it together.
I had picked her up earlier than planned because one of her best friends from preschool was coming to play - Brooke left nursery earlier this year, so they are always desperate to play together and had a really wonderful time together. And I got to snuggle Brooke's baby brother.
Super proud of my big girl today. Today she looks ready for school.
