Porty People and Places
My elder sister and husband flew up for a Festival visit from London today. We met them from the tram on Princes Street and, as it was my brother in law's first visit to Edinburgh during the Festival we began with a tour of the street performances. The sun shone and the crowds appreciated all the diversions. We spotted Richard Osman - not difficult to miss really given his height - he's the spectacled brains behind the TV quiz show Pointless!
When we got off the bus in Joppa we had to shelter in the bus shelter while this storm blew through. It would have brought all the street theatre to a rapid conclusion too.
Despite the speed of this flood, the drains coped very well and by the tine we went for an evening walk on the beach the water had completely gone and the sun was shining dramatically on the unharvested barley beyond Musselburgh,
