At the Edinburgh Festival

Sunshine and heavy showers all day.

We have come down to Edinburgh to visit my daughter and her family and to see a Fringe event. 'Private Peaceful', based on Michael Morpurgo's book, is an immensely powerful one man play about the life of a young soldier in World War 1. The audience was left stunned at the end and it was some time before we gave the actor a standing ovation

Before the performance we mingled with the crowd and, because it was 'tipping it' down we were happy to take shelter in this refreshment area. Tomorrow we hope to take in some more of the street theatre action.
