Lee Valley Library, Millenium Centre, Liverpool

The Millenium centre is a community run centre servicing the estates of Netherley, Belle Vale and Lee Park on the eastern fringe of Liverpool. As it's name suggests it has now been opened for 14 years, in an area that badly needs social amenities. There had been a library in the nearby Comprehensive School, but it transferred to the Centre when it opened. Now the library is threatened with closure, 2/11. If it were to close, it would not only deny the residents and their children in these estates of a local library, but it would also threaten the financial sustainability of the Centre as a whole.
