I was feeling a bit rough today after yesterdays long day but I managed to get into town in time to see "Antigone" which was a classical play by Sophocles, it's not a story I'd heard of before so I had no expectations. It was extremely well done, without any costumes or props, each character wore a plain (different coloured) T-Shirt and grey track-suit bottoms, so the entire show was based on the acting.
The second show of the day was "Alive" which was a modern play inspired by Frankenstein. It was very dark, kind of creepy, a bit abstract and a little disturbing! The venue was "Paradise in the Vault" and is a small stone room under the streets of Edinburgh a great setting for this type of play.
Third and final show of the day was "Haggis, Haggis, Haggis" which was a fun show mixing storytelling and music all about Haggis. It was a fun show, explaining the myth and the truth about the "Great chieftain o' the pudding-race". It was a fun and light hearted show plus we got to try some Haggis, my row were given a plate of vegetarian haggis pakoras.
Today's Blip was taken on The Royal Mile between shows.
