Swan Upping

Here is the swan family I was talking about a few weeks ago. They are heading back up river from Belhaven Bay, which they appear visit most mornings and early evenings. As you can see the cygnets are doing well and are still four in number so if they are my original family from Seafield Pond they have certainly found a safer haven away from predators. This was very much a grab shot so the background of the concrete banking at this point of the river is not exactly ideal but without this bank we could well be flooded in our bungalow several times a year. As it is the river only tops the bank and floods up the path a couple of times most years and fortunately it has never reached our garden though parts of the paddock behind us have been flooded.
