Battle of the Flowers

We went to the Jersey War Tunnels in the morning, what a moving and sobering experience, true testimony to the fact that there are no winners in war. We were given identity cards when we went in of islanders and there was information within the tunnels of their time during occupation. So thought provoking to see the stand that ordinary people took for freedom and the price they were prepared to pay for justice.

Then in the afternoon it was the Battle of the Flowers, what a spectacular event and it was lovely to see O and E marching proudly for their parish. R and I were interviewed by ITV news for our opinions on the weather it seems! So after the Battle we headed back to the W's for chinese takeaway and to watch and see whether R and I made the news, we did!
