Summer's end?
You know that summer is coming to an end when shops start putting preserving equipment in their windows. Whenever I see bottles like these, I want to rush home and make fruit liqueurs!
It's not even as though I never do any preserving. Last year, I pickled over 12 pounds of onions, as well as making mincemeat, red onion chutney, and spicy tomato relish. And my pickled red cabbage with chestnuts was, quite frankly, a triumph - even if I do say so myself!
