Silky

Corn silk shimmers and glows as it moves gently with the air currents, draping itself lazily over the leaves and stalks.
Three corn plants in our greenhouse are about eight feet tall, and we had almost given up hoping that they would produce an ear or two. Then a couple of days ago the silk appeared, one lovely strand for each future kernel.
Today we made corn ice cream (with corn from the grocery store) Sounds kind of weird, but the flavor is sweet and delicate. I learned about this yummy treat in Mexico, where they make just about everything imaginable with corn. They use the silk to made tea - I think I would like to try that!
