Beside the seaside
My mother and I beside the seaside, beside the sea. Don't remember if I have re-captured this image for you previously.
The year will be c.1964. The colours of the fabric of my mother's dress I remembered when I applied some tint to look at the shades of the swirling design, lovely browns and charcoal greys among them . Unsure about the scene on the back of my cotton shirt, but it includes a palm tree and the same scene was on the front and the back.
Which of the beaches I am now unsure. I am seeing it through the eyes of the original photographer, my father who was a student of geology when he secured his Science Degree. What fascinating geology and how clean the environment is. Reflecting the Barrier Reef and this coastline is at serious risk of rapid deterioration.
