Hailstones...

This is not a particularly good photo, but it is today's Blip because otherwise those of you still basking in the last weeks of summer will not believe the weather we've had today. Returning home from work, I was shocked to find the garden white with ice. Huge hailstones had fallen shortly before, causing major flooding and bringing down part of the roof in the local Co-op store. The efforts of anxious shopkeepers trying to clear the customers out of the shop before more of the roof caved in were thwarted by the fact that, due to all the gutters being clogged up with the hailstones, torrential streams of water were flooding past the main entrance so people were reluctant to venture out...
And this is summer.... anyone for ice-cream?
