Teamwork

These folks were having a torrid time on their ascent of the Wigan Flight of locks this morning. Lack of water in the lowest lock resulted in one of the barges becoming damaged as they both ran aground. Despite this they were a cheery crew and happy for us to take some shots.

The ladies were doing all the physical work in operating the lock gates whilst the gents steered the boats. It was certainly keeping the ladies in good physical shape, here she is having operated one lock striding purposefully up to the next one a few hundred feet away. They'll be ready for lunch : )
