Cowboy

Today we got to meet our horses. We had a clinic in the arena and a chance to learn a few Western riding skills. I am riding Soldier, Andy is on Hunter, Susan is on Tumbleweed, Scott has Cheyenne, Will is on Hunter and Ewan has Shaggy. We had a go at some steering, walking, trotting and even a bit of loping.

After lunch round the pool area, we went out on our first ride. It was a fairly steep hill ride up to a grassy meadow and then back down much the same path, with the last section tracking across the hill- steep sides to the path - my least favourite kind of path!! But Soldier is quite sure footed.

Lovely evening meal followed by an early night, as we have an early start tomorrow, the ride we are on leaves at 7.30am!
