The bees' knees

Gresgarth Hall, owned by garden designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd, was the first of two gardens which we visited en route to our next hotel in Chester - the other was Tatton Park. Gresgarth, at Caton, near Lancaster, is a very beautiful garden, very obviously the design of someone with a great love of plants. Just for a change, however, I've selected a picture of one of the pebble mosaics there, designed and laid by Maggy Howarth. She has done a number of these, including a smaller design at Yewbarrow House which I photographed last year - part of this you can see here.
