Byron was 'ere

A backblip - not my usual thing, but photography really took a back seat on my mini adventure. On Thursday (today in blip terms) I went to Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire, ancestral home of Lord Byron. It was sold to his forbears for around £800 by Henry VIII when he dissolved the monasteries. It has wonderful gardens which I couldn't really do justice to, and the house, which is only open at the weekends, and there is also this facade which is wonderfully gothic! I stayed overnight in Nottingham, then went on to the Birdfair at Rutland Water
